About this project

We are a rescue centre based on the Isle of Wight and provide a forever home for any donkey in need.

There is plenty to see and do here at the sanctuary, and there is always something going on! Come and visit us, take part in the activity sheets or interactions, grab a bite to eat, and of course see all of our donkeys and ponies!

Visits are free and donations are very much encouraged. There’s also a paid experience where you can dive into the heart of sanctuary life.

Grazers Cafe

The award-winning café is a beautiful rustic barn, converted in 2019 at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, overlooking the Wroxall valleys, where you may be able to spot the donkeys in their paddocks.

If there’s no room at the ‘Inn’ (donkey joke, kind of), then there’s plenty of seating out in the courtyard or to the back of the café.

There is also the Wildlife Meadows, where you can sit amongst nature with your own picnic (or takeaway café food).
