Join Our Volunteers To Have Clean And Safe Beaches

We conduct community beach cleans where volunteers give one hour of their time once a month to help clean our beaches and neighbourhoods.

Our Beach Groups

BeachPatrol, through the power of local resident members and community spirit, is helping to clean Victoria’s beaches.

BeachPatrol is a chain of volunteer community groups each defined by suburb, post code and T-shirt colour. Starting in 2009 with BeachPatrol – 3206Middle Park/Albert Park, it quickly became evident that many 3206 residents cared greatly about the condition of their local beaches and were willing to give up one hour of their time each month to help keep the beaches cleaner and safer for the greater enjoyment of all.  BeachPatrol – 3207Port Melbourne was soon up and running and following on from that, BeachPatrol-3182St Kilda and BeachPatrol-3186Brighton groups were started.

By mid 2015, there were 18 groups running, covering over 50 km of beach across the top of Melbourne’s Port Phillip Bay with approx. 1500 volunteers signed up to help keep our beaches clean. As of 2023 there are 45 BeachPatrol groups covering over 150 km of Port Phillip Bay beaches and streets, with over 6000 volunteers working to keep beaches clean.
